About The Position

CMC Physical Hardware Integrator (Technician Level 1) This position supports NASA in the Cargo Mission Contract's Cargo Processing team by performing hands-on physical processing of space flight hardware before shipment to various launch sites or hardware owners. The Physical Integrator performs tasks associated with flight hardware inspection, packaging, and integration into final launch or return configurations, with the ultimate goal of successful delivery to the vehicle integrators for launch, or the hardware owners in the case of return missions. Tasks include, but are not limited to the following: Review, understand, and implement hardware handling constraints according to NASA requirements and hardware owner's documentation. Conduct the in-line Hardware Verification Review (HVR). Inspect manifested flight hardware items to ensure program requirements are met, while observing hardware handling constraints. Identify physical issues with hardware items, make recommendations for resolution, and coordinate with cargo integration team to implement resolution. Ensure issues are resolved in order to meet schedule constraints. Package flight hardware for protection according to NASA standards and drawings. Integrate flight hardware into final launch configurations per layout drawings. Capture and post imagery of hardware within electronic software tool throughout physical processing. Capture hardware data within electronic software tools to build As-Built Parts List for each packed location. Verify accuracy of barcode and serial number data and hardware hierarchy compared to physical packing. Perform tasks according to steps within electronic Work Orders. Travel to launch and recovery sites to integrate/recover hardware. Conduct return hardware verification by documenting physical issues, differences from plan, and actual data such as mass, serial numbers, and barcodes. Perform general lab housekeeping and equipment maintenance.
