About The Position

We have a new opportunity at WOOD-TV that shines a light on our Daybreak newscasts. If you’re someone who understands the importance of breaking news footage, and you have the skills to edit video that brings stories to life, this position is for you. This News Photographer/Video Editor operates video cameras to record images or scenes for news reports. You’ll operate TVUs for live shots. You’ll edit new video. And you’ll search feeds for video that becomes the content we air during Daybreak. When you’re in the field, you’ll support WOODTV+. You’ll even put on a reporter hat once in a while to ask questions and write content. And you’ll find video, dial in live shots and edit the stories we air on multiple platforms.

Requirements

  • College diploma preferred.
  • Fluency in English .
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • We prefer someone with one year experience operating video recording equipment.
  • Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
  • Proficiency with video recording equipment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to work any shift.

Responsibilities

  • Edit new video and feed video for daily morning newscasts.
  • Shoots video for news reports.
  • Confers with other personnel to discuss assignments, logistics and shot requirements.
  • Sets up, composes and executes video shots.
  • Maintains video equipment.
  • Be willing to write content for newscasts on TV, segments on WOODTV+ and stories on WOODTV.com.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
