About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking a Phlebotomist Tech for their Laboratory Draw Centers located across the Treasure Valley. This is a part-time day shift position where the successful candidate will apply their phlebotomy/Lab Tech experience and skills. Under the general direction of a supervisor, the phlebotomist will collect blood samples, correctly identify patients, transport specimens, and perform related clerical and computer functions. The role involves manual tasks such as registering, ordering, proper collection, labeling, processing, and distribution of specimens for laboratory testing from patients of all ages. The Phlebotomy Tech will also utilize relevant computer programs for data entry, serve as the central communication point for the laboratory, and maintain the quality and quantity of specimens sent to reference laboratories, including reporting results.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Ability to communicate effectively with patients and hospital staff
Good working knowledge of medical terminology and computers

Nice To Haves

Phlebotomy certification preferred
Experience in phlebotomy in a hospital setting preferred
