The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking to fill Phlebotomy Technician I positions to perform phlebotomy/specimen collection and a variety of laboratory tasks related to phlebotomy, labeling specimens, telephone inquiries, and distribution of phlebotomy supplies. Duties to include: Performs phlebotomy draws Performs computer data entry and other clerical tasks as required Orders, receives, and distributes supplies Responds to basic phlebotomy inquiries and otherwise represents assigned and related work areas Percent of Time: 100% Schedule: Monday-Friday 0730-1600, rotating holidays Location: Iowa City, IA Merit Pay Plan Benefits Highlights: Regular salaried position located in Iowa City, Iowa Fringe benefit package including paid vacation; sick leave; health, dental, life and disability insurance options; and generous employer contributions into retirement plans For more information about Why Iowa?, click HERE!
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent
- Previous public contact/customer service experience
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program or previous phlebotomy experience
- Minimum six (6) months previous experience working in a healthcare setting
- Basic computer skills
- Previous experience with Personal Protective Equipment
- Previous patient contact experience
