About The Position

Our Phlebotomy team is seeking a Supervisor to support our Camas, Columbia Tech Center, and NW Portland, OR locations! Responsible for daily oversight of phlebotomy staff, phlebotomy collection procedures, Lab reception/scheduling procedures, specimen processing procedures and lab specimen transport procedures. Ensures that the phlebotomy process flows and patient encounters are operating optimally. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm with flexibility to adjust hours and provide weekend support as needed. Vancouver Clinic provides care across a wide range of medical decisions. This includes care and opinions on vaccinations, reproductive health, end-of-life decision-making, and gender affirming treatment. Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Must have WA State MA-Phlebotomist certification
  • Minimum of two years supervisory or lead experience in a phlebotomy setting.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a phlebotomist using blood drawing techniques in a clinical lab setting required.
  • Proven ability to train, develop, assess, and mentor staff.
  • Strong Leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills, and the ability to address issues with staff in a professional and compassionate manner.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Manager with hiring, orientation, scheduling, performance evaluations, training, disciplinary action recommendations and compliance with Clinic policies and procedures, and HR policies.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and hold staff accountable for successful job performance and work behavior.
  • Hire and place staff in clinics who have the right qualifications, and behaviors to support and efficient work environment, who are supportive to the goals of the department and clinic.
  • Oversight of supply ordering and distribution
  • Supervise and enforce policies with compassion to ensure that each person is treated fairly, equitably and with respect.
  • Use a management style which encourages and reinforces employee growth and development.
  • Monitor and control expenditures, overtime and staffing levels.
  • Monitor maintenance of equipment, building attractiveness, state of repair and safety.
  • Daily staff rounding.
  • Serves as a mentor for new phlebotomy staff and training.
  • Responsible for timely completion of orientation checklist.
  • Responsible for coordination and oversight of phlebotomy students.
