About The Position

The Wistar Institute has an opening for a part-time (8:00 AM to 12:00 PM) phlebotomist who is solely responsible for collecting blood sample (bags, tubes, syringes) from donors by venipuncture to be used by our research staff. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for maintaining an adequate donor pool for research programs; screening donors’ ability to give blood and monitoring donors after blood drawing and maintaining detailed and accurate records of all services. Requirements

  • high school diploma with a minimum of 2 years of experience (or equivalent education and experience)
  • certification as a Phlebotomy Technician from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or other certification body

Nice To Haves

  • previous experience with biomedical research desirable
