About The Position

JOB SUMMARY Work Shift: 7 days on, 7 days off Wednesday - Tuesday. 4:00 am - 2:00 pm shift. Work 70 hours in a pay period but get paid for 80! This position may be eligible for a sign on bonus! The Phlebotomist greets and instructs our patients on sample collection procedures and performs blood and urine collection procedures utilizing standard collection methods. The individual must follow strict patient identification policies including verification of specimen labels applied to patient samples. The Phlebotomist has continuous patient contact and is the laboratory's ambassadors to our patients and must follow applicable organizational policies. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of a post-secondary medical terminology course.
  • One year phlebotomy experience with venipuncture and capillary puncture.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology or exposure to a medical environment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
