About The Position

Assist and support the licensed clinical care team members by providing phlebotomy services in an hospital setting. Responsible for the performance of multiple duties relating to specimen collection and handling in a medical setting. Essential Function and Responsibilities of the Job Communicate effectively and courteously. Address customers using eye contact in a polite, expedient, and helpful tone of voice. Continually update knowledge to provide current and accurate information to those requesting assistance. Address and calm potentially tense situations. Make informed and educated decisions with little notice and minimal supervisor involvement. Act in a responsible and trustworthy manner at all times. Take responsibility when supervision is not available. Identify chain of command and utilize resources effectively by researching and resolving problems, situations and challenges routinely encountered during the work shift. Be at work and be on time. Follow company policies, procedures and directives. Interact in a positive and constructive manner. Prioritize and multitask. Includes every other weekend, holidays and additional shifts during the weekdays. Shift starts at 5am sometimes earlier. Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Current certification as a Phlebotomist Technician by the State of California
  • Knowledge of specimen collection techniques, equipment and specimen handling is required

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of previous experience performing venipuncture on hospital based patient populations is preferred.
