About The Position

The Phlebotomist will join the Inpatient Lab Team in a dynamic, high-energy, fast-paced, and supportive environment. This role is crucial for patient care, involving the obtaining of in-house blood specimens, processing laboratory specimens for clinical analysis, and providing patient information to appropriate caregivers. The work is vital for the diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients. The position is for night shifts with flexibility to cover evening shifts when needed.

Requirements

  • High school or GED.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong phlebotomy skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility necessary for work schedule and patient care requirements.
  • Good command of the English language and medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

  • Nat'l Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
  • Technical training in Phlebotomy Program, 1 year of experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receives assignments, obtains required supplies, completes work on time.
  • Completes Stat requests within standard turnaround times.
  • Responses promptly to beeper and/or overhead paging.
  • Verifies that the appropriate specimen has been obtained / received for the test requested.
  • Maintains integrity of the specimen.
