About The Position

Rocky Mountain Laboratories is a clinical laboratory providing comprehensive laboratory services. We are dedicated to delivering accurate and timely diagnostic information and are committed to improving healthcare outcomes through cutting-edge technology and a customer-focused approach. Position We are seeking a dependable, experienced part-time Phlebotomist to support one of our outpatient clinic partners in the Sandy, Utah area . This is a stationary, in-clinic role focused on venipuncture, specimen collection, and providing compassionate, professional patient care. This role is based in a specialty outpatient clinic environment and is well-suited for candidates who are professional, patient-focused, and comfortable working independently in a clinical setting. There may be future opportunities for cross-training into mobile phlebotomy for candidates who are interested. Description Part-time, W2, based in Sandy, UT. Tentative start date: when the right fit is identified. Schedule: Tuesday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. part-time, averaging 20-25 hours per week

Requirements

  • Active and valid phlebotomy certification or formal documented training applicable to the state of Utah
  • 1–2 years of phlebotomy experience outside of training or donation centers
  • Strong venipuncture skills, including experience with challenging draws
  • Experience with specimen processing and order of draw
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Professional communication and patient-care skills
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs (supplies, specimen kits)
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, infection control, and standard safety protocols
  • Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently in a client clinic
  • Must reliably commute to Sandy, Utah

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in outpatient specialty clinics (such as women’s health, primary care, or similar settings)
  • Experience with ETS, butterfly, and capillary collection systems
  • Familiarity with laboratory workflows or specimen processing

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and specimen collection in accordance with established protocols
  • Provide professional, compassionate patient care in an outpatient clinical setting
  • Verify patient identity and accurately label specimens
  • Process, package, and prepare specimens for courier pickup and laboratory testing
  • Maintain specimen integrity, order of draw, and proper handling procedures
  • Accurately enter and verify patient and specimen data in laboratory systems
  • Follow HIPAA, infection control, and safety guidelines at all times
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Communicate effectively with clinic staff, laboratory personnel, and supervisors
  • Monitor and restock phlebotomy supplies
  • Assist with cross-training or special assignments as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
