Pharmacy Technician - Per Diem

About The Position

Performs various technical and clerical duties to assist in providing medications to patients, under the direction of Registered Pharmacist. Performs drug distribution duties, including filling unit dose bins, new medication orders, crash carts, and unit dose night locker carts while maintaining high accuracy rate. Performs computer function to enter charge/credit items daily. Fills/delivers orders with 45 minute turnaround from point of order entry; fills stat orders within a 30 minute turnaround. Performs monthly unit inspection in patient areas; reports issues to the Director. Assists with maintaining inventory of stock/supplies, expiration dates; rotation of stock. Checks stock and delivers pharmacy supplies to other departments daily. Enters pharmacy charges into the computer system daily for other departments. Other roles and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalency.
  • Current Illinois Pharmacy Technician licensure.
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills.
  • Work is of medium demand.
  • Routine lifting requirements up to 50 pounds.
  • Sitting, bending and reaching required.
  • Stands and walks more than 50% of the work day.
  • Works inside.
  • May handle labeled bio-hazard substances.
