Scope of Work Under the direction of a Pharmacist, provides technical assistance, processing and preparing medications and supplies. Works with multiple medication automation systems. Delivers medications and supplies to patient care areas. Triages phone calls and messages from multidisciplinary team members. Able to work in complex pharmacy areas (satellites, sterile product compounding, controlled substance handling, inventory management). Prepares supplies / medication, including complex sterile formulations under the direction of a Pharmacist. May prepare hazardous or biologic products when properly trained and competencies are passed. Prepares and packages bulk medications into unit of use packaging. Handles controlled substances for pharmacy and patient care areas under direct supervision of a pharmacist per federal and state law. Delivers pharmacy prepared medications, controlled substances and supplies to various nursing stations/patient care areas. Maintains a clean and organized work area. Maintains all requirements for CPhT certifications. Completes all Spectrum Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates.
