Corewell Health™ announced conceptual plans to expand the Butterworth Hospital campus with the addition of a new 621,000 square-foot facility that would increase access to care, including the construction of a new emergency department, 180 private beds and 12 to 16 operating rooms. https://www.spectrumhealth.org/locations/butterworth-hospital Scope of Work Maintains accountability for ensuring the safety and efficacy of medication use. Educates and acts as a consultant to patients/family and members of the health care team related to optimal drug therapy and participates in process improvement activities and drug use evaluations. Works with multiple medication automation systems. Interprets and screens medication orders for appropriate agent, dose, route, allergies, and potential drug interactions. Safely compounds and dispenses medications for administration to patients. Evaluates patients, orders appropriate laboratory tests, and interprets serum drug levels utilizing pharmacokinetic principles; provides prescribers with dosage regimen recommendations to optimize therapeutic outcomes, reduce patient risk, and monitor the costs associated with drug therapy. Provides appropriate supervision and direction within appropriate skill level to technicians, residents, interns, and other support personnel. Engages in continuous study of the entire professional field to maintain the professional competence, knowledge, and skills necessary for satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities. Completes required continuous training and education, including department and Spectrum Health specific requirements on a timely basis. Provides education and counseling to patients/family/significant others/members of the health care team in order to optimize outcomes and appropriate use of medications. Ensures that services are provided in accordance with State and Federal regulations, organizational policy, and accreditation/compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy
  • 2 years of relevant experience hospital pharmacy
  • LIC-Clinical Pharmacist - STATE_MI State of Michigan 90 Days required
  • LIC-Pharmacist Controlled Substance - STATE_MI State of Michigan 90 Days required
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association 180 Days required

Nice To Haves

  • American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited residency in Pharmacy Practice
  • Ideal candidate will possess PharmD Degree, a PGY1 or PGY2 Residency, and/or Hospital experience or post-PharmD experience
