About The Position
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Flexi Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Location: Norfolk, VA Status: Flexi (PRN) Shift: Rotating 8 Hour Shifts Hours: 6am-11pm (occasional overnight coverage) Weekends & Holiday Rotation The Pharmacy Tech performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner. Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. Requirements
- A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
Nice To Haves
- CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Preferred)
- Pharmacy Experience (preferred)
