Requirements

Possess an active licensure with the Montana Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in good standing.
RQI First Responder required.
Proficient working knowledge of aseptic technique for preparing sterile products.
Proficient typing skills required.
Must have an understanding of medical terminology and calculations.
Possess ability to learn other software as needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

Nice To Haves

Hospital Pharmacy experience is preferred, but not required.
Prior experience in Pharmacy Systems and Electronic Health Records preferred.

Responsibilities

Understands and completes all aspects of medication distribution from the pharmacy to all areas assigned including, but not limited to; inpatient and/or outpatient dispensing.
Filling the automated dispensing machines and utilizing the bar code scanning.
Filling patient drawers in all nursing units.
Delivering medications in the most efficient manner to all assigned areas.
Completes rounds according to current policy.
Promptly and efficiently answers telephone calls, responds to inquiries and routes appropriately as needed.
Performs all tasks associated with maintaining the pharmacy inventory.
Ordering, receiving, and shelving medications.
Documents and communicates drug shortages.
Monitors the pharmacy inventory for out dated medications, and disposes according to current policy.
Exhibits a working knowledge of all pharmacy computer systems.
Aids in staff development, orients new employees and students, participates in quality assessment, and improvement projects.
Maintains a neat and orderly environment.
Actively continues education to keep abreast of Pharmacy law and to maintain current licensure.
Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.
