About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician supports the safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of prescription medications under the direct or remote supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This position involves providing excellent customer service, maintaining regulatory compliance, assisting with inventory management, and ensuring patients receive timely and accurate prescriptions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • An active and in good standing Arizona Pharmacy Technician (or Trainee) license must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Active and in good standing national certification (e.g., PTCB, ExCPT) must be maintained throughout employment.
  • If filling a remote technician role, must have at least 1,000 hours of experience working as a pharmacy technician in an outpatient setting under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Must possess a valid and unrestricted Arizona driver’s license (within 30 days of hire if the applicant is from out of state) with no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions in the past five years. No more than two at-fault accidents in the last three years. Must maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license during employment. Must be insurable under NATIVE HEALTH’s liability auto policy.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and obtain a Class I Fingerprint Clearance Card within the first ninety (90) calendar days of employment and maintain a valid card for the duration of employment with NATIVE HEALTH.
  • Must pass substance abuse testing upon employment and submit to random testing during employment.
  • Must provide an up-to-date immunization (IZ) record upon employment.
  • Must have a current Tuberculosis (TB) skin test report within the past 12 months upon employment and provide an annual update.
  • Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 calendar days of employment and maintain certification during employment.
  • Bilingual in Spanish Required
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Demonstrates meticulous accuracy to prevent medication errors.
  • The ability to clearly and effectively communicate with patients and other healthcare professionals.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
  • A genuine concern for patient well-being and the ability to work with people who are ill or in distress.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and point-of-sale operations.
  • Proficient in medical terminology, pharmacy calculations, and brand/generic drug names.
  • Skilled at adjudicating prescription claims and troubleshooting prescription insurance issues (e.g., commercial, private, AHCCCS, Medicare Part D, and sliding fee scale)
