Pharmacy Technician, Sterile Compounding - Nights
About The Position

Requirements
- Must apply prior to hire for Pharmacy Technician licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within one (1) year as a condition of continued employment in this job classification.
Nice To Haves
- One (1) year of college or one (1) year of experience.
- Experience with sterile compounding technology and automated compounding devices.
- Two (2) years of healthcare experience.
- Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile compounded medications in compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines.
- Perform daily and monthly cleanroom and equipment maintenance as described in USP 797, USP 800, and department policies and procedures.
- Maintain organized inventory of compounding supplies, medications, and personal protective equipment.
- Accurately calculate and measure medications for prescription orders.
- Document compounding activities including product preparation, dispensing, and quality assurance.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and institutional regulations including hazardous medications.
- Adhere to safety protocols including personal protective equipment use and handling hazardous medications.
- Perform all other duties of a pharmacy technician.
- Complete all assigned competencies including but not limited to required media fill and gloved fingertip sampling.
- Train pharmacy technicians and other pharmacy personnel in sterile compounding areas.
- May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
