About The Position

Requirements

  • Must apply prior to hire for Pharmacy Technician licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within one (1) year as a condition of continued employment in this job classification.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of college or one (1) year of experience.
  • Experience with sterile compounding technology and automated compounding devices.
  • Two (2) years of healthcare experience.
  • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare sterile compounded medications in compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines.
  • Perform daily and monthly cleanroom and equipment maintenance as described in USP 797, USP 800, and department policies and procedures.
  • Maintain organized inventory of compounding supplies, medications, and personal protective equipment.
  • Accurately calculate and measure medications for prescription orders.
  • Document compounding activities including product preparation, dispensing, and quality assurance.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and institutional regulations including hazardous medications.
  • Adhere to safety protocols including personal protective equipment use and handling hazardous medications.
  • Perform all other duties of a pharmacy technician.
  • Complete all assigned competencies including but not limited to required media fill and gloved fingertip sampling.
  • Train pharmacy technicians and other pharmacy personnel in sterile compounding areas.
  • May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
