Primary Function: ChristianaCare is seeking a Pharmacy Technician – Projects, Pharmacy Operations to join our Newark Campus team. This position is primarily day shift and may occasionally be required to work evening and weekend shifts. In this role, you will support pharmacy operations to optimize pharmacy practice, systems, and the medication-use process—ensuring efficient, timely, and accurate pharmacy services. You will collaborate closely with the pharmacy leadership team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification required
  • Basic typing skills required
  • Computer experience preferred (e.g., window-based programs)

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of acute care inpatient hospital pharmacy experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist campus leadership in advancing pharmacy operations and automated dispensing systems; support continuous improvement initiatives and help implement goals set by the Newark Campus Director of Pharmacy Operations
  • Follow policies and standard operating procedures
  • Understand limitations of scope of practice and escalate concerns to the pharmacist on duty
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key departmental customers to foster effective communication, problem-solving, and planning
  • Represent the campus on interdepartmental and system-level projects, initiatives, and committees
  • Complete projects in a timely manner
  • Perform cycle counting of inventories to validate inventory levels and coordinate acquisition of items
  • Fill in as an inpatient pharmacy technician as needed
  • Support and participate in other duties as required to meet workload demands.
