About The Position

We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Pharmacy Technician (PRN) to join our PRN pool to support the daily operations of our pharmacies. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual who is passionate about patient care and committed to supporting pharmacists in a fast-paced, professional environment. Position Summary: The Pharmacy Technician (PRN) is responsible for assisting the Pharmacist with day-to-day operations in accordance with ARMS policy and Alabama State laws. This includes medication preparation, customer service, inventory management, and administrative support.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1 to 3 years of pharmacy experience required
  • Must be registered and in good standing with the Alabama Board of Pharmacy
  • Must be willing to work flexible schedule with availability to work on an as-needed (PRN) basis
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Proficiency with pharmacy software and computer systems
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities

Responsibilities

  • Assist the licensed Pharmacist in dispensing medications to patients
  • Count tablets, label bottles, and manage prescription packaging
  • Maintain and organize inventory; alert Pharmacist of shortages
  • Ensure drugs are stored and secured properly
  • Process payments and handle insurance claims
  • Enter and maintain accurate patient and prescription data in the system
  • Direct all clinical questions or health-related inquiries to the Pharmacist
  • Perform administrative tasks: answering phones, stocking shelves, and operating the cash register
  • Provide interpretation/translation assistance if authorized by the supervising Pharmacist or Director of Pharmacy
  • Perform other duties as assigned
