As Pharmacy Technician, you will support pharmacists in providing pharmacy services. You will be responsible for the preparations of sterile compounds both chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy, inventory control, ordering supplies and medications as needed and USP 797 guidelines adherence. A caregiver in this position works from 8:00AM - 4:30PM. A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • Licensed in Florida as a Registered Pharmacy Technician
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
  • Ability to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds.
  • Basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program
  • Six months of hospital experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding.
  • Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training.
  • Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.
  • Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students.
