As a PRN Inpatient Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in moving medications throughout the facility to enhance patient care. This team embraces a positive attitude and respects and supports one another to provide the best care possible. A caregiver in this position works day/evening/night/weekend, 6:00am – 9:30pm. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the Registered Pharmacist.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Must meet all of the following license and certification combination requirements at the time of application: Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR the National HealthCareer Association (NHA) AND it is required to hold an active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee.
  • If certified but current status with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) is Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee it is required to update registration status to a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the OBOP within six months of hire.
  • Must hold an active registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP). It is required, within 18 months from the date of hire: Must obtain a national certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA) AND Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program
  • Six months of hospital experience

Responsibilities

  • Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems.
  • Fill medications carts daily.
  • Prepare orders and maintain inventory for the pharmacy department.
  • Repackage bulk medications.
