About The Position

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 1. Support pharmacy operations a. Assist licensed pharmacists with medication dispensing and order processing b. Help maintain an organized and clean pharmacy environment c. Perform routine tasks such as counting and labeling medications 2. Learn and apply pharmacy laws and regulations a. Study and understand federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations b. Comply with pharmacy standards and guidelines to ensure legal and ethical practice 3. Provide customer service and support a. Greet and assist patients and customers in a friendly and professional manner b. Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff members c. Assist in resolving customer concerns and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction d. Operate the cash register and finalize sales for patients. 4. Maintain inventory control and stock management a. Assist in receiving, unpacking, and stocking medication and supply orders b. Monitor inventory levels and notify senior pharmacy staff when supplies need replenishment Page 2 c. Ensure proper storage and organization of medications and supplies 5. Perform administrative tasks a. Enter and maintain accurate patient and prescription information in the pharmacy system b. Complete necessary paperwork, including forms and documentation for prescriptions c. File and maintain patient records and confidential information 6. Learn medication and product knowledge a. Study and become familiar with commonly prescribed medications and their uses b. Understand basic pharmaceutical terminology and dosage forms c. Keep up to date with medication information and developments in the field 7. Follow quality assurance and safety protocols a. Adhere to standard operating procedures for medication handling, storage, and disposal b. Assist in conducting regular inspections and monitoring to ensure compliance with safety regulations c. Report any errors, discrepancies, or potential safety concerns to senior pharmacy staff 8. Engage in professional development and training a. Participate in training programs and educational opportunities to enhance pharmacy knowledge and skills b. Prepare for and pursue certification as a Pharmacy Technician as required by the health center 9. Performs other duties as assigned a. Effectively carries out task and responsibilities beyond core job duties and primary role.
