About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician (I, II, III or IV) reports to the Pharmacy Coordinator. Under general supervision, the Pharmacy Technician I supports the drug distribution activities of the Department of Pharmacy Services.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or Equivalent
  • 0-6months
  • Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP)is required and must be maintained.
  • Must obtain and maintain Pharmacy Technician Certification (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT)) certification: Team members as of 11/1/2023: within 1 year of 11/1/2023. New Team members as of 11/1/2023: within 6 months of hire. New team members who are enrolled or will enroll in a pharmacy technician training program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and/or recognized by PTCB, have 30 days post program completion to obtain certification.

  • Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force. (Frequent)
  • Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous)
  • Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous)
  • Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous)
  • Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous)
