About The Position

The Outpatient Pharmacy Technician II performs specialized functions necessary to assist pharmacists in providing safe, efficient, friendly and cost-effective pharmacotherapy services. Specialized functions include, but are not limited to the following: prescription order entry, insurance adjudication, troubleshooting insurance rejections, filling prescriptions, preparing prescriptions for final pharmacist verification, delivering prescriptions to the patient bedside, checking patients out through the point of sale system, contacting providers with questions, assisting with inventory management, and restocking supplies. Performs quality control procedures and contributes to the maintenance of the pharmacy, equipment and supplies. Assumes responsibility for at least one pharmacy related project outside of normal job duties determined by supervisor/manager including workflow redesign, performance improvement, safety, quality control, regulatory, administrative, staff development and technology. Trains new employees and/or students in the theoretical and operational aspects of procedures and serves as a resource for less experienced staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • Registered with NC Board of Pharmacy Required
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician Required
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • 3 Years Pharmacy Tech - Hospital (Inpatient/Acute) Required
  • Or 3 Years Pharmacy Tech - Hospital (Outpatient) Required
  • Or 3 Years Pharmacy - Specialty Area Required
