Specialty experience is not mandatory and will be part of a 6 week training module. Specialty Pharmacy Technicians at MaineHealth work within a call center performing core functions of the closed-door outpatient pharmacy: providing customer service by answering phone requests, triaging calls to the appropriate team, and coordinating care for patients taking specialty medications. Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
License/Certifications: Current or eligible for applicable state(s) license as a Pharmacy Technician.
Experience: Six months of experience as a licensed pharmacy technician.

Nice To Haves

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Patient Care: Deliver exceptional care by providing a full suite of custom medication management services. Engage with patients over the phone and virtually to support their medication needs.
Clinic Integration: Collaborate effectively with clinic teams, including doctors, nurses, and other staff, to ensure seamless integration and coordination of care.
Education & Support: Educate patients about our pharmacy services and how they enhance their overall care. Encourage utilization of specialty pharmacy services.
Medication Management: Monitor medication adherence, perform outbound therapy/medication adherence check-ups, and manage refill prescriptions. Address and resolve insurance-related issues, including prior authorizations and financial assistance.
Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate documentation, manage data using database applications, and participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Communication: Provide timely and effective communication with the clinical care team members as well as fulfillment staff and handle inbound inquiries professionally.
Process Development: Contribute to the development of new processes to improve patient care and operational workflows, under the oversight of the Workflow Committee
Confidentiality: Ensure patient information is kept confidential and protected.
