About The Position

As a Pharmacy Tech, you will be responsible for providing safe and effective medications to patients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Your role involves building trust through thoroughness and accuracy, with patient safety as a top priority. This includes ensuring prescriptions are authentic, correctly prepared in terms of medication type and dosing, and dispensed appropriately under the Pharmacist's guidance. You are expected to follow all safety protocols, including infection prevention, and maintain a clean work area. The role requires eagerness to learn and assist in keeping the pharmacy running smoothly to ensure patients receive their medications.

Requirements

High school/GED, upon hire
Pharmacy Technician: KY, upon hire or Pharmacist Intern: KY, upon hire

Responsibilities

Preparing, filling and distributing medication
Screening phone calls/orders and alerting the pharmacist to patient-specific data
Prepares labels with medication name, strength, lot number and expiration date.
Performs monthly patient care area inspections and reports as assigned by the manager.
Completes charges/credits daily for billing.
Maintains the various work areas of the department and equipment/utensils in a neat, clean, and orderly appearance.
Restocks special care stock supplies (i.e. emergency drugs to crash carts and heart carts) under pharmacist supervision.
