About The Position

Pharmacy Technician I – Delivery Support (Hybrid Technician + Driver Role) Position Summary The Pharmacy Technician I – Delivery Support provides essential support to daily pharmacy operations through accurate prescription preparation, patient service, and safe, timely medication delivery. This hybrid role ensures that medications are filled correctly, packaged appropriately, and delivered in compliance with WFM, TSBP, and delivery regulations. This position plays a key part in patient experience—both in the pharmacy and at the patient’s doorstep—helping maintain trust, continuity of care, and the mission of serving every patient with compassion and excellence. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities Accurately prepare, fill, and package prescriptions for pharmacist verification. Assist patients courteously at the counter and over the phone. Maintain organized workspaces, restock inventory, and support daily operational needs. Follow all WFM, TSBP, and 340B procedures for medication handling, storage, and documentation. Participate in training and cross-training activities to support pharmacy workflow. Contribute to a positive team culture through reliability, communication, and professionalism. Delivery Responsibilities Safely deliver medications to patient homes, clinics, or designated sites in compliance with TSBP delivery regulations. Verify patient identity and obtain proper proof of delivery (POD) documentation. Ensure secure handling of medications during transport, including cold-chain items requiring temperature control. Follow assigned routes and schedules, adjusting as needed to meet patient needs and operational demands. Complete delivery logs, mileage documentation, and required records accurately and promptly. Communicate delivery delays, issues, or patient concerns to the Delivery/Tech III Lead or Tech Manager. Maintain delivery vehicle cleanliness and report maintenance needs. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Visual and auditory accuracy Shift length - 8 hours Indoor setting Continuous use of computer and calculator Long periods of sitting Frequent use of telephone Continuous repetitive grasping and manipulation of both hands Continuous conversational communication Occasional reaching, walking, squatting, bending, kneeling, twisting and climbing Occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing and pulling of up to 25 lbs. Occasionally working in confined, noisy, dusty areas Frequent use of personal car Understand/carry out simple/detailed, oral/written instructions Memorize and retain instructions Read and interpret detailed specifications

Requirements

  • Current Texas Pharmacy Technician Registration or Trainee Registration.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and transport packaged medications and supplies as required.
  • Strong customer service skills and comfort interacting with patients in person.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility in both pharmacy and delivery tasks.
