About The Position
The UW Medical Center-Montlake Pharmacy Department is looking for an outstanding Pharmacy Technician 2 to join our Inpatient Pharmacy team! This position provides opportunities to work in a fast paced, challenging, rewarding and diverse environment
Requirements
- Six (6) months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician 1 or equivalent education/experience
- State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification

Responsibilities
- Perform the duties of a Pharmacy Technician 1
- Prepare medications from a physician order which may include compounded sterile products, hazardous medications and extemporaneously prepared doses
- Accurately perform pharmaceutical calculations
- Prepare sterile products and chemotherapy hazardous medications using appropriate aseptic technique according to USP 797 guidelines
- Troubleshoot technical questions related to specialized area.
- Serve as a resource to nursing, pharmacy and medical staff for policies and procedures
- Maintain all quality assurance documentation required for specialized duties
- Participate in monthly outdate and unit inspection program
