About The Position

Under the direction of a pharmacist and in coordination with other technicians, responsible for packaging, preparation, and distribution of medications, inventory control, customer service and maintaining pharmacy records. Pharmacy Technician III must participate in continuing educational opportunities to meet the annual competency requirements. A Pharmacy Technician III assists pharmacists, technician IV’s, and technician team managers with productivity management, training, and orientation of new staff, special projects, and committee meetings. Pharmacy Technician III complies with all hospital and department rules and regulations and will conduct themselves in a positive and encouraging manner conducive to the hospital, the department, and administration’s visions and values. Position Summary This position functions to assist the licensed pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical services to patients, as well as providing necessary services and information to nursing and medical staff. These services include preparation and packaging of moderately, complex medications, distribution of advanced medications, supplies and equipment, maintaining proper inventory levels, ensuring medications are in date and secure, and keeping appropriate records and documentation. This position is also responsible for supporting initiatives of area managers.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Certified or Registered Pharmacy Technician within one year
  • 0 years of relevant experience required.
