What You'll Do As a Pharmacy Technical Trainer, you will: Collaborate closely with Pharmacy leaders, Clinical Education teams, and preceptors to maintain high training quality and consistency across all Banner sites Facilitate skills-based simulations, assessments, and validation activities for both new hires and existing staff Develop and deliver engaging, learner-centered education sessions that accommodate diverse learning styles and skill levels Create digital learning materials using modern learning platforms, virtual meeting tools, and Microsoft Office applications Ensure all training documentation, competency records, and regulatory education meet Banner and accreditation standards Participate on system committees developing and implementing educational material as appropriate. POSITION SUMMARY This position delivers training to employees that may include, but is not limited to on-boarding activities, various assigned operational topics, and new and/or enhanced computer applications. This position will provide assistance in gathering and tracking data regarding training activities for the systems in relationship with Pharmacy Education. CORE FUNCTIONS 1. Oversees development of pharmacy technician and technical training materials and tracking tools, and aids in the implementation as appropriate. 2. Delivers training that includes related materials for pharmacy technician and technical education, while utilizing adult learning principles to deliver standardized content and materials. 3. Tracks education enrollment, attendance and completion of activities. Ensures data is maintained timely and accurately. 4. Coordinates and communicates feedback from trainees to ensure training needs are met, including gauging the audience and environment and tailoring the materials as appropriate. 5. Tracks and follows up on the results of evaluations, providing feedback to leadership and suggesting opportunities to enhance trainings. 6. Participates on system committees in an educational capacity. 7. This position must interact with and support all levels of end users throughout the facility, including technicians, nurses, therapist, and physicians. This position will coordinate activities with facility and system levels. This position will be interacting with all levels of management and staff, and other healthcare members for the purpose of integrating services, improving patient care, utilizing effective training methods, and ensuring effective communication systems throughout the facility.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Demonstrated preceptor and/or educator experience
  • Current Pharmacy Technician certification
  • Requires pharmacy technician licensure in the state of practice (where applicable).
  • Pharmacy technician certification required.
  • Incumbents in Arizona are also required to provide the AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire.
  • Must demonstrate at least 2 years of experience performing in a pharmacy technician role with knowledge of medication management information system software and automated dispensing systems.
  • Must possess good organizational, problem solving and computer skills.
  • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and other contacts.
  • Must be able to use reference tools to evaluate patient care and answer questions posed by customers.
  • Must have knowledge of computer software, particularly medication management information system software, Microsoft applications and automated dispensing system.

  • Advanced pharmacy technician certifications such as: Compounded Sterile Preparation (CSPT) Hazardous Drug Management Certificate Controlled Substance Diversion
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles.
  • Proven ability to adapt teaching methods to support different learning styles and skill levels.
  • Proficiency in developing digital learning content and utilizing educational technology platforms.
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
