About The Position

With the Pharmacy Operations Manager, responsible for supervising and coordinating the day-to-day activities of inpatient pharmaceutical services. Will provide services to patients from birth to death.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Required or Doctorate Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Required
  • 3 years Hospital/institutional care facility work experience or has successfully completed a Post Graduate-Year 1 accredited pharmacy practice residency.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Excellent customer service skills. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. (Required proficiency)
  • Skills with spreadsheets, Word processing, Internet/E-mail, Database software, Contact Management. (Required proficiency)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS) and vaccine certification is required to obtain and maintain within 1 year of employment. (Required proficiency)
  • Pharmacist - KBP If pharmacist, licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Kansas. Must obtain active license within 90 days of employment. Failure to obtain active licensure within designated time frame will result in termination. Required

Responsibilities

  • Performs staffing duties to achieve efficient integration of distributive and patient care activities to ensure prompt and accurate dispensing of all inpatient medications.
  • Provides management-level intervention for daily issues and problems requiring interaction between the Pharmacy Department and other hospital personnel.
  • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards.
  • Ensures compliance with controlled substance records and other governmental and accreditation regulations.
  • Provides implementation support, coordination and supervision of departmental automation initiatives and processes.
  • Participates in the hiring, training, scheduling, staffing and evaluation of department personnel.
  • Complies with all policies, standards, mandatory training and requirements of Stormont Vail Health
  • Performs other duties as assigned
