About The Position

As a Pharmacy Technician at Adena Health System, you’ll be a vital member of our pharmacy team, working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to support safe, effective, and efficient medication management. This role encompasses pharmacy operations across multiple care settings, including hospital, cancer center, and home care services. You will play a critical role in maintaining medication distribution systems, assisting in day-to-day pharmacy operations, and contributing to exceptional patient care. While responsibilities vary slightly by department, all technicians are united by a shared focus on accuracy, collaboration, and service excellence.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Licensure with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy (must be one of the following): Certified Pharmacy Technician Pharmacy Intern License Nationally Certified Technician with active Tech Trainee status Registered Technician (must attain Certification within 6 months of hire)
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to safety protocols
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced healthcare environment

Responsibilities

  • Support medication preparation and distribution, including non-controlled and controlled substances
  • Maintain inventory, restock medications, and ensure accurate labeling and storage
  • Assist with documentation, medication order entry, and fulfillment processes
  • Collaborate closely with pharmacists and healthcare teams to ensure compliance with safety standards and best practices
  • May provide direct patient support and education as delegated by a pharmacist
  • Ensure protection of patient confidentiality, medication security, and financial information
  • Participate in quality assurance, audits, and compliance processes as needed
  • Perform responsibilities across varied care settings including inpatient hospital, oncology, and home care
