About The Position

MUSC Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to join our dynamic oncology team. Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree and have completed a PGY2 residency in oncology or have equivalent clinical experience (3 years).
  • Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Beacon therapy plans for patients with cancer, utilizing specialized knowledge and expertise to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess patients' medication regimens and make recommendations for changes or adjustments as needed.
  • Conduct thorough medication reviews and provide patient education on proper medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of medication therapy and make necessary interventions to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Serve as a resource for healthcare providers and other staff members regarding medication therapy for patients with cancer.
  • Stay current with the latest developments and research in the field of oncology and incorporate new information into practice.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medication histories, assessments, and interventions.
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to pharmacy staff, including technicians and students.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians and nurses, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients with cancer.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to pharmacy practice.
  • Participate in professional development activities, such as continuing education, to maintain and enhance clinical skills and knowledge
