About The Position

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire a Pharmacy Resident who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Pharmacy Resident you will: Meet and successfully complete the competency areas of the ASHP required competency Areas, Goals and Objectives for Postgraduate Year Once (PGY1) Pharmacy, Community-Based and Managed Care Residency programs. Prepare and dispense medications Design, recommend, monitor, and evaluate patient-specific pharmacotherapy Provide patient/family education and conduct research/work on projects and MUE Respond to emergency codes and participate in the hospital committees Participate in the process for assessing, managing, and reporting medication errors Under the supervision of the pharmacy staff, the PGY1 resident is trained in the same principal duties and responsibilities of the Clinical Staff Pharmacists and Clinical Specialists.

Requirements

  • A Doctor pf Pharmacy (PharmD) Degree from ACPE accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Maryland within 90 days of employment.
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).

Nice To Haves

  • Some hospital experience (preferred)
  • Membership in American Society of Health-system Pharmacists, Maryland Society of Health-System Pharmacist (preferred)

Responsibilities
