About The Position

The PGY2 pharmacy resident is a part of a 12 month, structured, experiential training program with responsibilities including staffing as a pharmacist as well as participating in a variety of intradepartmental and interdepartmental projects and activities. He/She performs a combination of clinical and distributive pharmacy services necessary for the provision of high quality pharmaceutical care to Froedtert patients. The pharmacy resident is part of the pharmacy team at Froedtert Hospital and therefore the resident is expected to maintain flexibility and be willing to support the department in times of unanticipated need.

Requirements

• Completion of ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency is required.
• Good understanding of pharmacology and therapeutics, acquired through a combination of school and clerkship experience, in order to recommend appropriate and patient specific therapeutic regimens and subsequently monitor outcomes is required.
• Pharm. D. degree received from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy is required.
• Active Wisconsin Pharmacist License is required or eligible for and must obtain within 6 months.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with other health care professionals, administrators, and patients.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft computer programs including, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
