SUMMARY Pharmacy Residents are fully licensed Pharmacists and practice in areas appropriate for Pharmacists. The primary task of the Resident is completion of the ASHP Residency Learning System requirements for the Pharmacy Practice Residency in the 12-month period of their residency. The focus of this position is on clinical education and development versus traditional pharmacist services in support of production or provision of pharmacy services to support patient care. Residents do not work or fill in as Cashiers or Pharmacy QUALIFICATIONS Education Minimum: PharmD Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy. Credentials/Licensure Minimum: Valid Registered Pharmacist license, or eligible to take NABPLEX Board Exam within 90 days of start. Pharmacist Controlled substance license issued by the Michigan State Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of start. BCLS and ACLS certifications must be obtained within 60 days of hire. Related Experience Minimum: Must operate intravenous admixture solution pump. Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Minimum: Computer Competency Familiarity with standard desktop and windows-based computer system, including email, e-learning, intranet and computer navigation. Ability to use other software required to perform essential functions. Physical/Mental Minimum: Some pushing and pulling of carts is required along with bending, stooping (10% of time), considerable standing and walking (50% of time) and occasional lifting, usually no more than twenty pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS Substantial time in relatively independent study with reading, composition, and computer work. Strict aseptic technique must be followed in preparation of intravenous admixtures and chemotherapeutic agents, and precautions must be taken against personal risk of contamination and exposure to infections during cardiac arrest team service.
