About The Position

What Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing contributes to Cardinal Health Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning. The Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing team is responsible for managing supplier relations at a tactical level by executing and expediting purchase orders. Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing ensures the right quantity of products arrive in the right place, at the right time and cost. Assists in negotiating product and supply chain costs. Utilize terms and conditions of supplier contracts, work with internal customers to improve processes, and evaluate supplier performance that ultimately improves the supply chain. Job Summary The Pharmacy Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator will manage purchasing responsibilities for the pharmacy. The ideal candidate has a pharmacy technician background with knowledge of medications. This role is located at the Pharmacy Distribution Center (PDC) in Tewksbury, MA. This is a full time position Monday - Friday, day shift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Massachusetts pharmacy technician license required.
  • Ability to use technology such as computers, smart phones and tablets.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • May require vendor credentialing.
  • Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete standard tasks.
  • Works on routine assignments that require basic problem resolution.
  • Refers to policies and past practices for guidance.
  • Receives general direction on standard work; receives detailed instruction on new assignments.
  • Consults with supervisor or senior peers on complex and unusual problems.

Nice To Haves

  • PTCB certified, or ability to obtain certification preferred.
  • Pharmacy purchasing experience preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Pharmacist as needed, permitted by State Boards of Pharmacy.
  • Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Inputs patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy information management system.
  • Performs various pharmacy technician related functions
  • Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves and removes out-of-date items from the inventory.
  • Communicates with all customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Maintains knowledge of and abides by all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • other duties as assigned.
