This job supports company pharmacies to improve and optimize the steps necessary to get medications from a supplier to a patient. Focuses on inventory, purchasing, receiving, and distribution. Supports the system’s initiatives to implement new policies or modify existing procedures to minimize cost, reduce waste, increase accuracy, and improve safety through the pharmacy distribution process. Works closely with current staff and pharmacy buyers servicing the company's patient population. Works in an office atmosphere with periodic site visit to the pharmacies. Works in conjunction with the 340B split billing software, wholesaler, and system supply chain staff. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 10 years of pharmacy purchasing or related pharmacy experience.
  • Knowledge of master pharmacy management software (Sentry Data Systems, Pyxis and Cardinal Health) to support pharmacy supply chain programs.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and Access.
  • Knowledge of regulations and guidelines of pharmacy supply chain.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to be detailed oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and delegations skills.
  • Ability to coordinate diverse information into management data and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Supports implementation of pharmacy supply chain initiatives / financial stability.
  • Serves as technical resource to pharmacies buyers.
  • Assists with data management to support supply chain programs, compliance, and the safe medication use processes.
  • Assists with staff education and training for pharmacy procurement.
  • Participates in quality assurance activities related to the medication use process or specified program.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
