Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Pharmacy technician certification in the appropriate state
Minimum one year of related experience in data entry
Excellent data entry skills
Attention to detail and be able to work under deadlines
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

The Exchange Coordinator assists the pharmacist with preparation of routine medications for distribution to facilities based on physician orders and prescriptions
Fill cycle medication orders accurately and efficiently in a timely manner
Review pre-pack list and prepare 30/31 day cards with the appropriate drug
Works under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist assisting with dispensing medication according to the prescription
Assist the inventory tech with restocking and cleaning shelves with medication and other items as needed
May assist with regular inventory cycle
Assist in shipping the medications according to the facility and work with the shipping clerk to ensure boxes are shipped in a timely manner
Sort prescriptions according to facility and print packing slips for cycle exchange
Communicate with nursing staff to obtain/provide key information
Follow all applicable government regulations including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
