About The Position

Outpatient MAT Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) Seeking: Pharmacist PRN Hours: Working on an as-needed basis: Monday - Friday, 4:45 AM - 11:30 AM Must be willing to travel to Cartersville CTC, Woodstock CTC, Loganville CTC, and Cumming CTC as needed. Dallas CTC is the home base location. Our Team: Dallas Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), located in Dallas Georgia, is part of Acadia Healthcare's Comprehensive Treatment Centers, the leading provider of medication-assisted treatment in the nation. Our nursing team provides compassionate, high quality safe and efficient medication dispensing to patients that are seeking recovery from Opioid Use Disorder. Your Job as a Pharmacist: The Pharmacist is responsible for the accountability of prescription medications to patients and maintenance of accurate records; provides expertise in the safe use of prescription medications in an outpatient clinic setting.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree in pharmacy from an accredited college or university required
• Must have a current Pharmacist License in the state of Georgia
• No history of alcohol or drug misuse for a period of three years before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Prefer previous experience in behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment.
• Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including the safe handling, administration, and documentation of methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., DEA, 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, and Joint Commission standards) related to controlled substances and patient care.
• Proven ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, counselors, case managers, and support staff, to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Understanding of clinical best practices related to substance use treatment, including trauma-informed care and harm reduction principles.

Responsibilities

• Fills prescriptions, verifies instructions from physicians on the proper amounts of medication to give to patients;
• Checks whether prescriptions will interact negatively with other drugs that a patient is taking or any medical conditions the patient has;
• Instructs patients on how and when to take a prescribed medicine and informs them about potential side effects they may experience from taking the medicine;
• Advises patients about general health topics, such as diet, exercise, managing stress, and on other issues, such as what equipment or supplies would be best to treat a health problem;
• Teaches other healthcare practitioners about proper medication therapies for patients;
• Completes insurance forms and work with insurance companies to ensure that patients get the medicines they need;
• May oversee the work of pharmacy technicians and/or pharmacists in training (interns)
• Keeps required federal, state, local or corporate records, and does other administrative tasks necessary for the professional practice of pharmacy in a clinic; and,
• Performs other duties as assigned.
