About The Position

Twelve (12) month post-graduate educational training program under the guidance of advanced pharmacy preceptor(s). Through our program, you will gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence to become a highly qualified independent practitioner equipped with the ability to deliver exceptional patient care. Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Residents are assigned to advanced preceptors and are responsible for providing pharmacy services including monitoring patient medication regimens and providing appropriate interventions. The PGY1 Pharmacy Resident work in collaboration with the health care team, actively participating in rotation activities throughout the pharmacy department. Residents will participate in multidisciplinary meetings and bedside rounds. Residents will complete self-evaluations throughout the program and complete a residency project in the form of a written manuscript at the end of the residency. Residents who are in good standing, complete all of the goals and objectives, and satisfactorily complete all assigned work and assignments will receive a certificate of successful program completion.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharmacy Doctorate
  • Licensed in the State of Arizona is required. Residents need to have started the licensing process which allows the practice of pharmacy in the state of Arizona (intern license, pharmacist license, or temporary pharmacist license), before start date; residents are assigned appropriate work tasks during licensure processing
  • BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
