About The Position

This position is responsible for processing of prescriptions for hemophilia treatment centers for the purpose of treating patients with bleeding disorders. Ensures compliance of all policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations as they relate to this position. Processes prescriptions from hemophilia treatment centers. Schedules workload for optimization of resources. Perform regular inventory counts to ensure accuracy and reconcile inventory discrepancies. Keeps drugs and supplies neat and orderly. Daily and monthly review of refrigeration temperature logs. Monitor any temperature change that would impact product integrity. Maintains a working relationship among physicians and nurses and assists hemophilia patients and their families in understanding the products and methods of treatment. Makes recommendations for improvement of business units processes and practices. Attends professional development workshops as required. Any related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy
  • Related Experience: Five years’ experience in hospital/healthcare pharmacy
  • Required Licenses / Certification: New York State Pharmacist License
  • Current on continuing educational (CE) credits
  • Any combination of education, training and experience that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to perform the essential functions of the job
