Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy.
  • Five years’ experience in hospital/healthcare pharmacy.
  • New York State Pharmacist License.
  • Current on continuing educational (CE) credits.
  • Any combination of education, training and experience that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.

Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for processing of prescriptions for hemophilia treatment centers for the purpose of treating patients with bleeding disorders.
  • Ensures compliance of all policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations as they relate to this position.
  • Processes prescriptions from hemophilia treatment centers.
  • Schedules workload for optimization of resources.
  • Perform regular inventory counts to ensure accuracy and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Keeps drugs and supplies neat and orderly.
  • Daily and monthly review of refrigeration temperature logs. Monitor any temperature change that would impact product integrity.
  • Maintains a working relationship among physicians and nurses and assists hemophilia patients and their families in understanding the products and methods of treatment.
  • Makes recommendations for improvement of business units processes and practices.
  • Attends professional development workshops as required.
  • Any related duties as assigned.
