MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Position Summary:  Responsible for safe, effective and timely medication use throughout the medical center. Procurement, storage, preparation and administration of all medications are under the supervision of the Pharmacist. The pharmacist ensures optimal medication use throughout the entire medical center and across all ages of the patient population. Services include outpatient medical building prescription services, bedside medication program and long term care/sub-acute care. All applicable state and federal regulations must be followed at all times.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (Rph) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from a school of Pharmacy recognized by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Application of Pharmacokinetic principles for drug dosing.
  • Working knowledge of Pharmacology, Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, and Laboratory data interpretation.
  • Working knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal and third party payer policies with respect of prescription drug benefits current registration by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Demonstrates aseptic technique when compounding IV admixtures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to work in a union environment.
  • Current registration by the California State Board of Pharmacy
  • Valid Los Angeles County Fire Card (required within 30 days of employment)
  • Assault Response Competency (ARC) (required within 30 days of employment)
