About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a PRN/Flexi Clinical Pharmacist Intern for the Inpatient Pharmacy in Norfolk, VA. Location: Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk, VA Status: Flexi/PRN Shift: Rotating (10 hour Weekend Shifts) Hours: 6am-11pm (occasional overnights) Weekends: One Weekend a Month The Clinical Pharmacist Intern is responsible for managing the drug distribution system and providing technical support in all aspects of the delivery of safe, effective, patient-focused, and cost-efficient drug therapy. Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. Manages patient drug therapy in accordance with the medical staff-approved clinical practice standards under the direction of a pharmacist. Serves as the primary resource for drug information within the hospital and assures the appropriateness of all physician medication orders under the direction of a pharmacist. Remote project work once fully trained onsite in IV room with sterile compounding. Requirements

  • Will consider pharmacy students with an active intern license or new graduated pharmacists eligible to obtain Virginia state Pharmacy Intern license
  • Must have Virginia or North Carolina (applicable to location) license within 90 days of Sentara start date
