About The Position

Description: The Pharmacist-Intern assists the pharmacist in providing professional pharmacy services for all age groups. This job will assist in filling medication orders and prescriptions as needed to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies. Pharmacist-Intern will perform all technical and clinical tasks under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Typical Duties: Assist the pharmacist in providing professional pharmacy services to the patients and community. Enters patient information and prescription information into the computer forpatients/employees of all age groups. Assists hospital personnel and patients with medication needs and provides excellent customer service directly and via the telephone. Returns medications to stock in a timely manner. Assists in problem solving in matters relating to the pharmacy. Cooperates in maintaining a clean, orderly, safe, and professional environment. Provides technical support of drug distribution services for all inpatients and/or outpatients. Fills and stocks medications and supplies within the department as well as monitors and ensures adequate inventory is maintained in all areas. Ensures medication management processes meet all legal and regulatory requirements. Assists with reporting. Participates in performance improvement (PI) activities which improves patient care. Performs cashier functions and daily cashier reports as needed. Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an accredited school of pharmacy
  • Active pharmacist-intern registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

Nice To Haves

  • Pharmacy experience as a registered technician
  • ACPE IV Certification
  • CPR-Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider
