Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas has served North County's coastal communities since 1978. Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas' campus includes Scripps Clinic Encinitas and an outpatient imaging center. We're home to notable specialty programs including a 24-hour emergency room, accredited stroke care, physical rehabilitation services (including a brain injury day treatment program), our Baby Friendly birthing pavilion and a Level II neonatal intensive care unit. This is a full time, benefited position with 10-hour varied shift at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas. Includes $4,000 retention incentive and $3,000 relocation assistance for eligible new hires. Requirements

BS Pharmacy or Pharm.D. Degree
California Pharmacist License
AHA BLS
ACLS certification required prior to being trained to respond to codes, can be obtained within 6 months of hire

PGY1 residency or 3 years' experience in relevant practice area.

Responsibilities

Primarily operation focused centrally based; participates in direct patient care as clinical competencies are approved and on approved shifts.
Documents the care provided to patients.
Supervises the drug distribution operation: responsible for assuring safe and effective alternatives as appropriate.
Contributes to the accomplishment of initiatives to improve the cost-effectiveness of drug therapy.
Routinely communicates with physicians, nurses, and patients regarding drug therapy.
Demonstrates ability to provide age-specific patient care as established for area and job title.
Demonstrates ability to perform competencies and perform activities as outlined in the Pharmacist Authorities policy.
Provides pharmaceutical care according to standards established by Scripps Health Pharmacy, to assigned group of patients.
Reviews and evaluates individual drug orders for appropriateness, safety, and cost.
Precepts students and residents as assigned.
