The community you'll be caring for: AdventHealth Heart of Florida AdventHealth Heart of Florida is a licensed 193-bed acute care hospital, coupled with outpatient services including imaging, rehab, lab and wound care, that has been serving the community for over 50 years. Located in Davenport, FL., which is close to major destinations, like Busch Gardens, Legoland, and Walt Disney World, without being located in the central hub of tourism. The role you'll contribute: Responsible for interpreting provider orders and prescriptions, and compounding and dispensing medications. This position explains use of medications and potential drug interactions, and provides drug information to patients, healthcare workers, and others as necessary. Other expectations include overseeing and supervising pharmacy technicians and other supporting staff.

Requirements

Doctorate
Licensed Pharmacist (RPH)
Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS)
Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol (NRP)

Responsibilities

Interprets prescription and medication orders accurately, and clarifies any uncertainties to ensure safe and effective patient care.
Monitors drug utilization to detect potential interactions, overlaps, dosing issues, and other unique situations.
Participates in Code Blue and other emergency situations to ensure adequate drug supply and appropriate drug use.
Supervises pharmacy technicians and supporting staff, directing workflow and ensuring completion of duties.
Compounds medications safely and accurately, meeting regulatory and record-keeping requirements.
Maintains accurate and complete records of all dispensing transactions of legend and controlled drugs.
Demonstrates speed and accuracy in routine processing functions.
