The Pharmacy Technician I, OPD (Outpatient) is responsible for providing support to pharmacy operations under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The Pharmacy Technician I, OPD will staff in pharmacy locations/areas as required. Practices as a pharmacy technician in accordance with all federal, state, DFCI and Joint Commission policies, regulations and standards Fills medication orders according to policy, while gaining proficiency with advanced prescriptions Ensures timely delivery and/or completion of medication orders and/or supplies Utilizes multiple systems such as EHR (Electronic Health Record, Inventory Management Systems and other systems to complete and document duties. Troubleshoot as necessary Maintains the Pharmacy inventory: sorting, stocking, rotation of stock and expiration date checking Performs and documents quality control steps as required (e.g., barcode scanning, etc.) Performs cleaning of sterile and non-sterile areas of the pharmacy as assigned Trains other employees as assigned Communicates and escalates issues or problems Performs other duties as assigned Responds to and manages questions from patients and triaging calls from providers Manages assigned claims-related adjudication issues with occasional need for assistance
