A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SHIFT LEAD In this leadership role, you are essential to the success of daily operations. You oversee and support team members during your shift, delegate tasks effectively, and ensure that all responsibilities are completed thoroughly and on time. You lead by example, maintaining high standards for safety, cleanliness, and animal care. You confidently manage playgroups, supervising dog interactions and stepping in when needed to prevent or resolve conflicts. You assist with feedings, administer medications as scheduled, and actively participate in daily sanitation to ensure our facility remains clean, safe, and welcoming. Compassionate and attentive, you provide hands-on care while also supporting and guiding your team. You take pride in creating a calm, organized, and positive environment for both dogs and staff, and you play a key role in upholding our reputation for excellence. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A SHIFT LEAD 18+ years of age Professional experience handling dogs Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing for extended periods and working outdoors in varying weather conditions Prior experience in a dog daycare, boarding facility, or dog training environment strongly preferred Punctual, reliable, and highly accountable Strong communication and leadership skills Compassionate, calm, and confident under pressure Able to manage multiple tasks and make sound decisions in a fast-paced setting If this sounds like you, you may be an excellent fit for our leadership team. WORK SCHEDULE This is a full-time position with shifts of 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM or 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM . Candidates must be available to work every other weekend and select major holidays.
